Picture Yourself in Wonderland

This picture was made for the “Picture Yourself in Wonderland” contest. It is the first contest I participate in on DeviantArt. The picture was photographed by Sean Loke. I, myself, am the model. Everything from the eyepatch to dress to hair and makeup was created and/or designed by myself. The same can be said for all photoshop and photo-manipulation.

I decided to represent the Queen of Hearts. She’s fancy. Everything in her surroundings needed to be perfect. There is no place for the slightest error with the Queen. She gets what she wants, when she wants it, no questions asked – or be beheaded.
In the photo, the Queen holds an unfinished half-painted rose and demands the culprit, angry as she usually is. I, of course, was influence by Walt Disney’s version of Alice in Wonderland, since it represented her idealistically in a single picture. This is the only part not taken from Tim Burton’s version, where as the eyepatch, costume, hair, makeup and darker atmosphere where directly inspired from it.

This is probably my favorite execution (no pun intended) of the Queen of Hearts that incorporates the direct use of cards. What a fashionable and yet flawless display! My hat goes off to you (again, no pun...you know...) for making it look so elegant and regal. Very very nice!
